Mini bio
How it started.
Meddy traces their love of music to Sunday school. While at secondary school in Rwanda, they sang in Zion Temple’s Justified choir alongside The Ben and Lick Lick. In an interview with Rwanda Today, Meddy credited their Sunday school teachers with helping shape both their music and faith.
The songs fans found them through.
Released in 2017, “Slowly” helped bring Meddy’s music to listeners across East and Central Africa. It won Song of the Year Rwanda at the 2018 HiPipo Music Awards. Collaborations such as Otile Brown’s “Dusuma” and solo releases including “My Vow” followed.
Returning to gospel.
Gospel has been part of Meddy’s story since the early song “Ungirira Ubuntu.” Recent releases include “Grateful,” “Niyo Ndirimbo” with Adrien Misigaro and “Blessed.” In July 2026, Meddy spoke about faith, being present as a parent, and preparing more music and a concert in Rwanda.
