Mini bio
How it started.
Jessy Caron and Dragos Chiriac began Men I Trust in 2014 after making hip-hop and dance music together for fun. Emma Proulx later joined them on vocals and guitar. Their official lineup also places Jessy on guitar and bass and Dragos on keyboards.
Finding their listeners.
Their audience grew gradually through independent releases. Tyler, the Creator invited them to Camp Flog Gnaw in 2018. “Show Me How” arrived that year, followed by Oncle Jazz in 2019. The band’s soft vocals and bass-led songs became a familiar meeting point for dream pop and groove.
Keeping it their own.
Men I Trust produce their own music. In a 2022 interview, Emma explained that keeping their royalties helped the members leave their day jobs around 2018. During the pandemic, an experimental EP grew into Untourable Album, released in 2021. In 2025, they followed it with the two Equus studio albums.

Trivia
- The name grew out of “Trust,” which was already taken. Emma explained that “Men” refers to mankind.
- Jazz pianist Gabriel Desjardins improvised the piano solo for “Hard To Let Go”; the band assembled the final solo from that take.
- The two Equus albums credit mixing and mastering at Laval University’s LARC.
