Mini bio
How it started.
Milly began campaigning for better sex education at 16, contributing to the campaign for compulsory provision in England and the curriculum consultations that followed. Their early work included volunteering with organisations such as Stonewall, Brook and UNESCO.
Finding their community.
In a 2022 TikTok interview, Milly recalled downloading the app in 2020 for a distraction during the pandemic, then gradually finding the courage to post. Their videos connected with people looking for open conversations about queerness, bodies and relationships. By that interview, TikTok reported 390,200 followers.
From journalism to HONEST.
Milly worked as an editor at Patient before making sex education their full-time focus in 2021. Their debut book, HONEST, followed in June 2022, with illustrations by Lucia Picerno. It brings questions about bodies, consent, identity and relationships together in a guide for young people.
What matters to Milly.
Their work centres access to sex and relationships education for people who are queer, neurodivergent or disabled. Alongside social posts and writing, they speak at events and work with organisations and brands on educational projects.
