Mini bio
How it started
Growing up near Hamburg, Steffen heard a schoolmate play guitar and asked him for lessons. He began writing songs and playing in an indie-rock band.
Finding his sound
After school he spent a year travelling with his guitar, then moved to Berlin, where he discovered electronic music and learned to produce. He started Monolink to bring songwriting and the feeling of a live concert together with electronic sounds.
Building a catalogue
Before Monolink, his song “Sticks & Stones” was his first to be signed to a label and reach a wider audience. As Monolink, he made The End EP with Acid Pauli in 2015, followed by his debut album Amniotic in 2018 and Under Darkening Skies in 2021.
