Mini bio

How it started.

Parris grew up in Manurewa, Auckland. She began hip-hop lessons at ten and formed ReQuest with four female friends at 15. That crew grew into The Palace Dance Studio in Penrose, creating a home for her choreography and dancers.

Finding her own movement.

She and her friends called their style Polyswagg. In a 2015 interview, she explained that the name joins her Polynesian background with her own style and reflects how her upbringing shaped her dancing.

From crews to screens.

In 2015 she directed and choreographed Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” featuring dancers from ReQuest and The Royal Family. Her later work includes an Emmy-winning routine for Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3 and co-directing Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.”

Her own soundtrack.

Parris released music as PARRI$ in 2016 before returning to recording in 2025. Working with producer Kito helped her find confidence in that part of her work again. A GIRL IS A DRUG brings her dance background into club music, alongside guests including BEAM and SadBoi.
