Mini bio

Finding a practice.

Phyllicia grew up in New Jersey and discovered yoga in high school. Art was already a way to express feelings; movement became another. A scholarship made teacher training possible, and Phyllicia completed 200 hours in 2016, initially seeking a deeper personal practice rather than a teaching career.

Growing online.

Instagram yoga challenges helped Phyllicia explore poses beyond studio classes and gradually build an audience. Teaching grew into classes and workshops, while sound baths became another way to share a practice that had helped quiet their own thoughts.

Making room for more people.

Alongside teaching, Phyllicia co-founded Sisters of Yoga to increase visibility for women of color in yoga and wellness. The collective brought people together through Instagram challenges and free meetups.

Practice from anywhere.

Phyllicia’s work includes Sweat’s Yoga with Phyllicia program and guided classes for Alo. More recent bookings span Times Square’s solstice celebration, Omega’s online Teachers Studio and Pilates and sound bath programming at Four Seasons Anguilla.
