Mini bio
How it started.
Rabea grew up in Leeds in a musical family and started out on drums. A skateboarding injury left Rabea unable to drum, so a father’s guitar became a new outlet. Learning Metallica songs helped turn that recovery pastime into a lasting focus on guitar.
Finding an audience.
Meeting Rob Chapman in 2011 opened the door to gear and YouTube. Chapman encouraged Rabea to start a channel. Gear demonstrations and presenting Andertons’ Sound Like series became a way to share playing and explain how familiar guitar sounds are made.
From demos to the stage.
Bands have stayed central to the story, from Dorje and instrumental trio Toska to The Totemist and VOWER. In 2021, Instagram playing clips led to a session opportunity with Stormzy, performing at Reading and Leeds.
Making the whole record.
Rabea’s work reaches beyond guitar parts. Solo releases credit recording, mixing and mastering, while VOWER’s A Storm Lined With Silver credits guitar, backing vocals, recording and mixing. Alongside music, Rabea has developed signature gear with companies including Neural DSP, Victory, Ernie Ball Music Man and Bare Knuckle Pickups.
