Mini bio
How it started.
Rubén Doblas grew up between Spain and Norway and created his first YouTube channel in 2006. His humorous Skyrim videos helped him find an audience. He opened elrubiusOMG in December 2011 and built on that style with game montages and short, comic summaries.
Finding his voice.
The 2012 Minecraft song parody Minero became an early calling card. Gaming and comedy stayed at the centre of his work, while personal videos and Epic Vlogs gave viewers more of his life beyond the screen. Today, fans can follow live streams on Twitch and videos on elrubiusOMG and Rubius Z.
Beyond the channel.
El libro troll arrived in 2014, followed by the Virtual Hero comic in 2015. Prime Video’s 2022 documentary Rubius X looks back at his beginnings and motivations. In 2024, Fortnite added a Rubius outfit and his cat Wilson as a back bling. His 2025 book Rubius. Japón 2009 returns to the memories and photographs of his first Japanese trip.
