Mini bio
How it started.
Riley and Elayna met on the Greek island of Ios, where Elayna was playing music for the summer. Riley had saved for a sailboat through offshore work. In July 2014, they began voyaging together while learning to sail.
A camera became a channel.
Elayna began filming to share their life with friends and family in Australia. Early videos found a wider audience, and the couple decided to keep making them. Their first YouTube episode, published in November 2014, introduced their sailing in Turkey.
An ocean crossing people remember.
In 2019, they helped Greta Thunberg cross the Atlantic with professional sailor Nikki Henderson so she could return to Europe for COP25. The voyage brought attention to the channel beyond sailing circles.

Elayna’s picture book First Mate Lenny celebrates their eldest child’s life at sea, with illustrations by Sandra Eide. Riley and Elayna also co-founded SeaPeople. Their recent films follow plans for an off-grid family home in Vanuatu alongside their sailing.
