Mini bio
How it started.
Michael Grzesiek was born in Toronto and worked through smaller Counter-Strike teams, including Exertus and Manajuma, before joining compLexity. When Cloud9 acquired that roster in August 2014, Shroud became part of a North American team that fans would follow on stage and on stream.
From matches to streams.
Shroud helped Cloud9 win ESL Pro League Season 4 in 2016. After stepping away from the starting roster in 2017, Shroud left Cloud9 and retired from professional CS:GO in April 2018. PUBG and Fortnite streams brought a wider audience, while the move offered more freedom from travel and tournament schedules.
More ways to play.
A brief competitive return with Sentinels brought Shroud to VALORANT’s North American Last Chance Qualifier in 2022. Other projects included designing a Logitech mouse and advising on Spectre Divide, whose servers closed on April 17, 2025. In 2025, Fragathon raised over $1 million for St. Jude, and Shroud followed through on a fundraising promise by introducing the SHROUD-X Marvel Rivals roster.
