Mini bio

How it started.

Sam grew up with two music-teacher parents and began making electronic music at 13. In a 2018 interview with Orange County EDM, they recalled how a DAW finally let them hear the musical ideas in their head. In January 2013, aged 15, they opened a SoundCloud account under the name Teminite.

Finding an audience.

In 2014, Teminite won remix contests run by Barely Alive and Disciple, and by Pegboard Nerds on Monstercat. Those wins helped build an audience. Highscore, made with Panda Eyes, became a defining collaboration.

Melodies, instruments and adventures.

Their jazz and classical background runs through music built around strong melodies and heavy bass. Raise The Black Flag turned that approach into a pirate-themed album in 2021. Collaborations with Boom Kitty later brought The Master and its sequel into Beat Saber.
