Mini bio
How it started.
Tom grew up in South London surrounded by music and art. Violin came first, with lessons from the age of four; guitar followed around nine. Studying music technology gave Tom a way to record ideas at home, and discovering J Dilla helped turn that interest into beatmaking. Early uploads found listeners on SoundCloud while Tom was still in sixth form.
Finding an audience.
In 2013, Majestic Casual picked up “Follow”, featuring sister Laura on saxophone. That exposure helped the bedroom recordings travel. Beat Tape 2 followed in 2015, and the debut solo album Geography arrived in April 2018, reaching No. 8 in the UK. Its collaborations included De La Soul and Loyle Carner.
Making room for others.
Tom and drummer Yussef Dayes began working together in the studio in summer 2018 after meeting at a Geography party. Their 2020 album What Kinda Music joined Tom’s melodies and production with Dayes’ exploratory drumming. It reached No. 4 in the UK and received a Best Album nomination at the 2021 Ivors.
A gentler return.
Full Circle arrived in March 2026 after time away to rebuild a relationship with music. In interviews, Tom described moving towards live players and more exposed songwriting. Working with collaborators including Matt Maltese and Ian Fitchuk, the album puts family, reflection and connection close to the centre.
