How it started
Schoolmates from near Sheffield formed While She Sleeps in 2006. Their 2010 release The North Stands for Nothing and 2012 debut album This Is the Six helped establish them in UK metalcore.
Doing it together
For 2017’s You Are We, the band crowdfunded the record and released it on their own Sleeps Brothers label. They went on to build Sleeps Audio in Sheffield and launch the fan-supported Sleeps Society.
The band today
Loz Taylor, Sean Long, Mat Welsh, Aaran McKenzie and Adam Savage have taken their music from local shows to a sold-out Alexandra Palace. In 2026 they announced a break from touring to give themselves space to make music.
