Mini bio
Before the breakout.
Whitney was already the author of the Mid Life Love series when Reasonable Doubt reached a much wider audience in 2014. In a July interview that year, she said she had been happy with her earlier, smaller success and had imagined a bigger breakthrough might come years later.
A writing exercise that took off.
Reasonable Doubt began during a break from another manuscript. Whitney wanted to practice banter, scene building, and sexual tension in a shorter story. Its success surprised her, and the series became a New York Times bestseller.
Stories for the reading pile.
Her catalog includes the childhood-friends romance Sincerely, Carter and the boss-and-assistant standalone Two Weeks Notice. In 2026 she returned to legal romance with Final Verdict, Contempt of Court, and Motion to Dismiss, while Vicious Rival brought the tension to competing booksellers.
