Mini bio
How it started.
Wolf Alice began in London in 2010 as an acoustic duo: singer and guitarist Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie. Drummer Joel Amey and bassist Theo Ellis joined in 2012. Early singles Fluffy and Bros arrived in 2013, followed by the Blush EP and, in 2014, Creature Songs.
Finding their sound.
Their 2015 debut My Love Is Cool introduced a band comfortable moving between soft melodies and noisy guitars. Moaning Lisa Smile earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance. Their second album, Visions of a Life, arrived in 2017 and won the 2018 Mercury Prize.
Growing together.
Blue Weekend became their first UK number one album in 2021, and they won Best Group at the 2022 BRIT Awards. For 2025’s The Clearing, they wrote in Seven Sisters and recorded in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin. It became another UK number one, and they returned to the BRITs as Group of the Year winners in 2026.
