Mini bio

How it started.

A New York native and Parsons School of Design graduate, Zoë began with still-life photography before moving into fashion. The Gentlewoman says she has contributed since the magazine began, making still-life portfolios as well as portraits.

Finding connection.

In her interview with What’s Contemporary Now?, Zoë recalls photographing Małgosia Bela as a breakthrough in working with an experienced subject. She also credits support from women including Phoebe Philo, Miuccia Prada and Grace Wales Bonner with helping her grow. Moving to California and becoming a mother changed how she saw the world and made pictures.

Her work moves between commissioned fashion images and personal projects. Simple Pleasures appeared in 2013; in September 2024 she and makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver published already past and already again there. Her exhibition history includes Made You Vanish at Paris Photo in 2021, Held In the Palm in Los Angeles in 2024 and HARD COPY NEW YORK at ICP in 2026.
