Mini bio
How it started.
Before the records and film sets, Ali drew portraits in a hotel lobby. He told Mid-day that selling sketches helped pay for his first album and video.
The song that opened doors.
Channo, from his 2003 debut Huqa Pani, became his musical breakthrough. Masty and Jhoom followed. His work also reached Coke Studio, including performances of Allah Hu and Rockstar.
From records to films.
Tere Bin Laden introduced him to cinema in 2010. He later starred in London Paris New York and composed its soundtrack. For Teefa in Trouble, he took on acting, writing and producing.
Still making things.
Roshni arrived in December 2025, followed by new soundtrack singles in 2026. Away from recording, he continues to paint and supports education through the Ali Zafar Foundation, founded in 2015.
