How it started.
Ashlee began making content while working part-time as a hairstylist in New York City. Charlie was learning photography and taking the pictures. As paid brand opportunities grew, Ashlee made the move into full-time creation.
Finding momentum.
In a 2022 interview, Ashlee described a Hawaii trip as a turning point. A longer stay brought more content, audience growth and agency representation. Moves to Austin and Los Angeles followed before the couple settled in Saratoga Springs.
Style and home.
Body confidence and fashion sit at the heart of Ashlee’s work. Their official site dates the full-time creator career to 2016 and lists collaborations with Aerie, Good American, Adidas, Nordstrom and Old Navy. The couple also designed and built The Hartley Haus in upstate New York.
A family costume milestone.
In 2025, the family’s Labubu-on-a-Birkin costume became a widely watched project. The Digital Dept. reported more than 34 million views across social media and a TODAY appearance.
