Mini bio
How it started.
Maxey traces her modeling ambitions to a Torrid and Seventeen model search at Garden State Plaza in New Jersey. Her mom encouraged her to enter, and she won at 17. She later studied psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Finding her place.
She worked behind the scenes at Dia&Co, styling, shooting and casting models, before returning her attention to modeling. A 2018 Hey Alma interview documented her work for Target and Eloquii and described her as the first size-18 model in an American Eagle campaign.
Style with room to live.
During the pandemic, Maxey left the city, became a mother and moved into full-time content creation. Her work now combines practical outfit advice, beauty and honest reflections on motherhood. She also helps young talent navigate modeling through JUST KIDS Model & Talent, alongside longtime friend Nicole LeBris.
Making clothes more inclusive.
In 2022, she collaborated with Cynthia Vincent’s BAACAL on the first SHAPES collection. The Maxey wrap dress came in three prints, and the collaboration expanded the brand’s sizing. Her newsletter, The Elevated Everyday, continues that interest in helping women enjoy getting dressed in the bodies they have.
