Mini bio
How it started.
Awez grew up in Mumbai in composer Ismail Darbar’s family, but dance became his own path. In his Entrepreneur interview, he traced that interest to watching Hrithik Roshan perform Ek Pal Ka Jeena while he was still at school. He practised independently and entered competitions before becoming an instructor.
Finding an audience.
He began as a dancer and choreographer with Shiamak Davar, then uploaded videos to social apps. TikTok helped his dance clips find a wider audience. The Shorty Awards recognised that early following with a Tik Toker of the Year nomination and noted his appearance in TikTok’s 2018 Rewind.
Beyond the dance reel.
His work includes celebrity dance collaborations, comedy and music-video appearances. He performed alongside Nagma Mirajkar in Tum Na Ho and Heartfail, and has taught workshops at his Atrangz studio. In 2025, fans also saw him in Ticket to Switzerland and as a contestant on Bigg Boss 19.
