Mini bio

How it started.

Albert Zheng tried competitive League of Legends with Velocity eSports before focusing on streaming after high school. In a TwitchCon interview with Digital Trends, BoxBox described the early appeal of playing games in front of an audience, even when that audience was small.

The Riven years.

Riven gameplay and champion cosplay became signatures of the BoxBox channel. Fans could follow the longer sessions on Twitch and catch shorter highlights on YouTube. A GameSpot interview also documented the Riven cosplay side of the early career.

Building around TFT.

Teamfight Tactics became a focus of BoxBox’s videos and streams. Riot featured BoxBox’s builds ahead of the Gizmos & Gadgets Championship in 2022. The BoxBox Bootcamp grew into a ranked ladder competition, with streamer divisions and a separate community leaderboard.

A place for the community.

In March 2025, BoxBox said Bootcamp had run for seven sets and introduced individual prizes for its top 64 community players. The competition did not require entrants to stream. That May, Riot named BoxBox among the four players on Digi Duos Invitational champions Team Geriatric Gamers.

Trivia

  1. BoxBox posts on Reddit as u/flosd, the account behind the community Bootcamp announcement.
  2. At TwitchCon, BoxBox told Digital Trends that an arcade was more appealing than drinking after trying the party scene.
  3. The community Bootcamp lets people compete without streaming; its March 2025 announcement required an NA Riot ID.
