Mini bio

How it started.

Before Honest Toddler, Bunmi worked from home managing social media for family brands. In May 2012, after a difficult week with her two-year-old, she began tweeting from a toddler’s point of view. Imagining the world from that small, stubborn perspective gave her a way to turn everyday parenting frustrations into comedy.

From tweets to books.

Honest Toddler led to a book deal within six months. She cut back on client work and wrote at night, eventually leaving her day job to focus on writing. The Honest Toddler became a satirical parenting guide, followed by Toddlers Are A**holes. She moved into fiction with Confessions of a Domestic Failure, a USA Today bestseller, then explored motherhood through the poems of Dear Mother.

Faith and new readers.

Dear God collects prayers and poems from her search for a renewed relationship with God. Her God of Miracles podcast and blog continue those conversations. In 2026, her David’s Diary series, illustrated by Elisa Rocchi, introduced young readers to a neurodivergent nine-year-old navigating camp, school, friendship, and faith.
