Mini bio

How it started.

Celeste grew up in Brighton after moving to England from California. As a teenager, she formed a band with friends. A singing video posted to YouTube at 17 caught the attention of her future manager, giving her an early opening into music.

Finding an audience.

“Strange” became a signature song, and Celeste performed it at the 2020 BRIT Awards as that year’s Rising Star winner. She also won BBC Sound of 2020. Her debut album, Not Your Muse, followed in 2021 and reached number one on the UK Official Albums Chart.

Songs beyond the album.

Celeste helped write the lyrics to “Hear My Voice” with Daniel Pemberton for The Trial of the Chicago 7, earning a 2021 Oscar nomination for original song. She later sang the theme for The Day of the Jackal.

A second chapter.

Woman Of Faces arrived in November 2025. Produced by Jeff Bhasker and Beach Noise, the nine-song album draws on orchestral sounds. Celeste told AnOther that seeing the ballet Raymonda helped inspire “On With The Show,” which she developed with Matt Maltese.
