Mini bio

How it started.

Garrett Mitchell grew up in Nebraska around his father’s car businesses. He met 1320Video founder Kyle Loftis through the local car scene and began contributing footage, photos and social posts while continuing his education in Florida.

Becoming Cleetus.

At Rocky Mountain Race Week in 2015, Mitchell and Loftis filmed a comic character beside Tom Bailey’s Camaro. Loftis called him Cleetus McFarland, posted the clip, and the character caught on. Mitchell later built his own channel, held the first Cleetus and Cars in 2017 and put law school on hold to pursue the work full time.

A place for fans to race.

He bought the dormant DeSoto Speedway in 2020 and turned it into the Freedom Factory in Bradenton. Alongside projects such as Leroy and Eagle, his world includes Crown Victoria races, burnout competitions and videos from the shop and track.

Taking on stock cars.

He entered ARCA with Rette Jones Racing in 2025, then added NASCAR Truck and O’Reilly Series starts in 2026. In October 2026, Richard Childress Racing announced him as its full-season ARCA driver for 2027.
