Mini bio
Growing up with wildlife.
Dingo grew up in Pietermaritzburg with a father who worked for the local wildlife authority. Animals were part of family life early on. He later recalled that his father introduced him to non-venomous snakes, while venomous species had to wait until he moved out.
Finding an audience.
Before his online breakthrough, Graham “Dingo” Dinkelman worked as a life and investment broker. In December 2016, News24 reported that his seven wildlife videos had won Cell C and Blink Pictures’ #BreakTheNet competition. The prize included R250,000 and a trip to Hollywood. His celebrity guests included mountain biker Greg Minnaar, comedian Aaron McIlroy and rugby player Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira.
Helping people care.
Dingo used entertaining encounters with reptiles to draw people into conservation. In the 2021 Cage of Death series, he spent five nights sharing an enclosure with different reptiles, explaining their behaviour along the way. Away from the camera, his work included children’s wildlife education and conservation projects involving rhinos, pangolins and lions.
A family’s work continues.
Kirsty and their children Taylor, Maddy and Rex were closely involved in his work. Dingo died on October 26, 2024, after complications following a green mamba bite. His family pledged to carry on his conservation message. In September 2025, Kirsty shared news of a previously unreleased video they had made together for their family channel.
