Mini bio
How it started.
Leslie Mosier noticed that photos of her pug drew more interest than her other Instagram posts. She gave Doug his own account in September 2014. A video of him exploring a Nashville park with a pug balloon later helped his audience grow beyond the photo feed.
From the feed to the screen.
Costumes, food jokes and familiar pop culture scenes became Doug’s calling cards. Leslie’s 2016 photo collection, Doug the Pug: The King of Pop Culture, became a New York Times bestseller. Doug later supplied the voice of Monchi, the family pug in the 2021 animated film The Mitchells vs. the Machines.
Helping through Doug.
His humans also created the Doug the Pug Foundation to support children and families facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Its focus includes preserving the joys of childhood and easing financial burdens outside treatment.
