How it started.

Raised in Cameroon, Adeline struggled with acne and the dark marks it left behind. Limited access to dermatologic care and information for darker skin helped steer an early interest in skincare toward dermatology.

Building Brown Skin Derm.

Adeline started Brown Skin Derm in 2017, at the beginning of dermatology residency. The aim was to give Black and brown skin a trusted place in conversations about skin health. In a Healthline interview, Adeline recalled that positive responses from followers in the US and abroad encouraged the work to continue.

Beyond the feed.

The work now spans skincare education, product reviews, brand consulting and Skinclusive Dermatology. Adeline also contributed to The Full Spectrum of Dermatology: A Diverse and Inclusive Atlas and joined the dermatologist team behind The INKEY List’s SuperSolutions range.
