Mini bio
How it started.
Before psychology, Kate worked in the corporate world using a marketing degree. She earned her clinical psychology doctorate at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, trained in forensic settings, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship through Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
Building a practice.
She co-founded Triune Therapy Group in 2016 and later founded Modern Intimacy, bringing therapy and public education about sexuality and relationships together. Her work connects mental health with relationships, trauma, and sexual well-being.
Taking the conversation public.
Her podcast began with a trailer in April 2021. Now called Get Naked with Dr. Kate, it pairs expert conversations with listener questions. Alongside her social posts, it gives fans a place to hear longer discussions about intimacy and everyday relationships.
Putting desire into words.
Published in February 2025, What Happened to My Sex Life? examines why people lose touch with desire. In an interview with Jessica Higgins, Kate explained that her own experience of diminished desire helped prompt the book, alongside the patterns she saw in clinical practice.
