Mini bio

How it started.

Grace grew up on Cape Cod and worked in beauty marketing before turning a creative outlet into her career. She started Stripes & Sequins in January 2010, mixing fashion, beauty, and things she could make herself. The site later became The Stripe.

Finding her readers.

Her designer-inspired DIY projects helped her audience grow, with readers sharing them on Pinterest. Contributions to The Glitter Guide and The Zoe Report brought more people to her work. She balanced the blog with a social media role at BaubleBar before leaving in June 2015 to focus on the site.

Books and conversation.

In April 2018, Grace and her friend Becca Freeman launched the podcast that became Bad on Paper. Their shared love of books grew into interviews and live shows. Grace was a co-host through 2022 and has since returned as a guest.

Where to catch up now.

Now based in Charleston, she writes The Stripe and the Scratch Pad newsletter. Fans can find outfit ideas, beauty reviews, monthly reading lists, and personal essays. Her HART collaboration brought that sense of personal style to a two-strand gemstone necklace.
