Mini bio

How it started.

Hadiqa grew up in Rawalpindi with music encouraged at home. In an interview with OK! Pakistan, Hadiqa recalled singing in school competitions at seven and the support of mother Khawar Kiani. Training at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts and appearances on children’s television helped turn that early interest into a career.

The songs fans grew up with.

Hadiqa rose to prominence in the 1990s. Roshni brought “Boohey Barian”, a Punjabi song written by Khawar Kiani that became a signature recording. The family collaboration continued with brother and producer Irfan Kiani, including the 2017 folk project Wajd.

Following the music.

Wajd explored regional poetry, instruments and folk traditions through live studio performances. Later Sufiscore collaborations included the qawwali rendition “Jani Door Gaye”, whose video stars Hania Aamir and Wahaj Ali, and the three-song tribute Hayat with Ustad Dildaar Hussain.

Beyond the recording studio.

In 2021, Hadiqa made an acting debut as Sakina in Raqeeb Se, later taking the lead in Dobara. After Pakistan’s 2022 floods, Hadiqa launched Vaseela-e-Raah to help affected communities. The BBC’s 2024 profile reported that the project had announced 370 completed homes and other facilities in 2023.
