How it started.

Nadine began making online videos in 2006 with a $79 webcam. Comedy sketches came first; travel became the focus as they started exploring the world. After studying computer science at the University of Victoria, they turned down a job to take a working holiday in New Zealand.

The turning point.

In a Calgary Journal interview, Nadine identified a yearlong Contiki contract in 2012 as the moment travel videos became full-time work. Their onboard videographer role let them travel while making YouTube videos. Practical guides to flights, packing and destinations became a lasting part of Hey Nadine.

Travel with a purpose.

Their work has also covered wildlife conservation. With Contiki and the TreadRight Foundation, Nadine travelled through Kenya and Tanzania, interviewing experts about threats to the Great Migration.

Starting again.

In March 2026, Nadine launched a separate channel about building a creator career. They are documenting the process of starting from zero, sharing channel analytics, experiments and the work of making videos around family life.
