Mini bio
Before the videos.
Jeff trained in child and family development at San Diego State University, then earned a master’s in marriage and family therapy at USC. His early work included a crisis line and therapy for high-risk students in public schools. He has lived in Portland since 2005, building a practice with couples and individuals.
Finding his audience.
He began posting on TikTok in September 2021 after pandemic burnout. In his Therapy Marketer interview, Jeff recalled that his fourth video went viral. His early audience responded to videos explaining clients’ rights and questions they could ask their therapists. The account was originally called TherapyDen, like the therapist directory he co-owns.
Longer conversations.
The short clips grew into books and podcasts. Jeff co-wrote Big Dating Energy with Kate Happ, published in July 2024, and hosted a companion interview podcast. On Problem Solved, he and fellow therapist Alex Moskovich bring listener dilemmas into longer, candid conversations about relationships and mental health.
