Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Omaha, JoJo grew up with a dance-teacher mother, Jessalynn. She competed on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition in 2013 before joining Dance Moms with her mom in 2015.
From dance TV to your feed.
Her 2016 single “Boomerang” addressed online bullying, while her videos, bright clothes and signature bows helped fans recognize her instantly. A 2017 Nickelodeon talent deal expanded her work into music, programming, products and live events.
Making the show her own.
JoJo launched D.R.E.A.M. The Tour in 2019. In 2021 she starred in and executive produced the musical The J Team, and became the first Dancing with the Stars contestant to compete with a same-sex partner. She also worked as creative director and executive producer on Siwa’s Dance Pop Revolution.
New music, new chapters.
“Karma” began her Columbia Records chapter in 2024, followed by the five-song Guilty Pleasure EP. Her later independent releases include “Infinity Heart,” “I’m Still Dancin’” and “Serendipity,” alongside a 2026 EP celebrating ten years of “Boomerang.”
