Mini bio

How it started.

Joseph grew up in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley. His parents gave him an acoustic guitar at 15, and he learned by playing covers. Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz were early influences. He posted recordings on Myspace before his father introduced him to YouTube, where he began sharing covers and originals during college.

Finding an audience.

In 2009, Joseph won the Kababayan Superstar contest. His acoustic videos then took him to The Ellen DeGeneres Show twice in 2010, performing “Replay” and “Cooler Than Me”. Those appearances brought his online music to a national television audience.

Songs of his own.

His debut album, Blue Skies, followed in 2012 with 11 songs he wrote and composed. “If You Stay” drew on a long-distance relationship. Alongside original releases such as “Our First Song” and the Here’s 2 You EP, he has kept recording covers and collaborating with musicians including Jason Chen and Clara C.
