How it started.
Justine’s interest in dermatology grew from living with acne from age twelve into their late twenties. In a Beautiful With Brains interview, they described wanting to spare other people the embarrassment and loss of self-esteem they had experienced.
From clinic to public education.
After medical school in Birmingham and specialist training, Justine worked as an NHS consultant before setting up a private practice. Their official biography also lists textbook chapters and a role as a British Association of Dermatologists spokesperson.
Building an audience.
By May 2018, Stylist had highlighted Justine’s Instagram for acne and rosacea advice. Their educational work now includes podcast interviews, the Skin Confidence newsletter and the Clear Skin Programme, an online course for women with adult acne.
