Karina Berenice is known online as Benulus and also goes by Berenice Castro. Harper’s Bazaar Arabia traces the start of their TikTok rise to summer 2020. Their outfit videos bring together vintage finds, thrifted clothes and layers of jewellery.
A style with roots.
In TikTok’s 2022 Creator Spotlight interview, Berenice described finding more freedom to express themself at college. They named Mexican crafts, the Adelitas and Frida Kahlo among their influences, and explained that buying secondhand while growing up helped shape their commitment to thrifting.
