Mini bio

How it started.

Kida grew up in Sacramento and began learning from his older brother Shaheem at four. Dance films he watched with his dad helped feed that interest. Formal classes followed, and his crew The ART of Teknique reached The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2010 after a video caught attention online.

The television breakthrough.

In 2016 he won So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation with Fik-Shun as his mentor. He later told Highsnobiety that trying tap, contemporary, jazz and ballroom on the show expanded what he thought he could do. In 2020, he competed on World of Dance alongside Bailey Sok.

From the kitchen to bigger stages.

His Kida’s Kitchen clips helped turn everyday spaces into a place for fans to discover his dancing. Choreographing Justin Bieber’s Come Around Me became a major creative step: he told Red Bull he also had a say in the clothes, camera shots and locations. Recent work includes touring with Kendrick Lamar, teaching workshops and performing with Bailey and RIEHATA at KCON LA.
