Mini bio
Before the videos.
Mamina trained in medicine at Louisiana State University, completed a combined internal medicine and dermatology residency at Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and pursued a dermatopathology fellowship at UCLA. Those specialties inform her interest in what skin can reveal about the rest of the body.
Finding her audience.
After returning to New Orleans in 2016, she began posting to help people get to know her work. In May 2020, TikTok invited her into its Learn on TikTok program. Making educational videos five days a week for six weeks gave her a regular creative routine during the pandemic.
Beyond a short clip.
Her work now includes ingredient explainers, skin-health conversations and longer interviews. In 2025 she co-authored a psoriasis guide and co-hosted Skin Deep MDs with fellow dermatologists Lindsey Zubritsky and Jenny Liu. Her own website describes an approach that connects skincare with mental and physical health.
