Mini bio
How it started.
Mary’s first makeup job was assisting Eugenia Weston at Senna Cosmetics while still in high school. She trained as an aesthetician, then pursued set work by emailing artists and offering to assist. Jessica Simpson became her first major client, taking Mary onto The Dukes of Hazzard.
Faces fans know.
Her client list grew to include Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber. She is also a co-founder of the talent agency Highlight Artists.
Sharing the technique.
Her underpainting method became a TikTok talking point in 2023. It starts with contour and highlight beneath foundation, creating definition while keeping the finished skin soft. That interest helped her move from working behind the scenes to teaching a wider audience.
From artist to founder.
In 2025, she launched m.ph by Mary Phillips. The Underpainting Face Palette translates her technique into one compact; Le Skin foundation followed in February 2026.
