Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Vietnam and raised in Calgary, Hung found an early outlet in sketching and painting. Working in a hair salon, they began recreating magazine makeup on willing clients and models at test shoots. Word of mouth brought paid advertising work, including jobs for Holt Renfrew.
Finding a wider stage.
Hung moved to Toronto in 2003 and New York in 2006. Editorial and commercial jobs led to representation by The Wall Group. Their portfolio grew to include Vogue, Allure and Harper’s Bazaar, alongside work with Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence, Bella Hadid and other familiar faces.
Sharing the process.
In August 2020, Hung launched a YouTube channel with Emily Ratajkowski, showing how to take a summer glow look from day to night. Fans could follow the makeup process in tutorials and hear conversations with clients.
Building a kit of their own.
Hung Vanngo Beauty launched in September 2025 after five years of development. Its first collection centered on color cosmetics, from eyeshadow to lipstick. In July 2026, Hung added a foundation designed to look good both face to face and in photos.
