How it started.
Michael’s route to mindfulness began in musical theater. In his interview with Michael Chernow, he described finding meditation while dealing with panic attacks that interrupted his performing career. He later brought those tools into preschool teaching and then corporate leadership.
Finding his audience.
In the same interview, Michael said his employer went bankrupt during the pandemic. He began building his own work and posting the reassuring words he needed to hear himself. Those camera-facing reminders grew into an audience that his publisher describes as more than one million followers across TikTok and Instagram.
A place to settle.
His podcast began in September 2023, with a first episode connecting his preschool experience to the idea of letting things settle. His 2024 book Let It Settle brings together daily habits and guided meditations; a companion journal followed that November. His work keeps returning to calm, kindness toward yourself and connection with others.
