Before DermDoctor.

Raised in New York, Muneeb Shah studied at Hofstra University and Nova Southeastern University before completing dermatology residency at Campbell University. His path included a switch out of radiology: he wanted more time with patients and the chance to follow them through diagnosis and treatment.

How it started.

He posted his first TikTok on May 1, 2020. Early medical humor gave way to skincare education as he noticed misleading advice on the app. A video about the worst skincare trends helped him break through, and audience questions became a steady source of ideas.

A longer conversation.

On Doctorly, Shah co-hosts YouTube videos with fellow dermatologist Dr. LJ Maxfield. Their work gives fans room to explore routines, product reviews, and skin concerns beyond a short reaction video.

From education to formulation.

Shah launched Remedy in March 2024. The brand builds products around concerns such as dark spots, dryness, and sensitive skin. It expanded into Target in December 2025 and announced a Series A led by L Catterton in June 2026.
