Mini bio

How it started.

Najam grew up in Multan and first made music with his brothers in Brother Rhythm. His later band, Wet Metal, drew on rock influences. Solo songs including “In Se Nain Mila Ke Dekho” brought him a wider audience.

The song that stayed.

While making Khazana, Najam travelled back to Multan to seek lyrics from Professor Sahar. Those words became “Meri Ankhon Mein Samai Ik Larki.” In his own account, the song helped make the 1996 debut album a success.

Beyond the albums.

His official biography counts ten studio albums between 1996 and 2008. Film audiences also know his voice from “Tere Bina” in Shaapit and “Tera Hi Bas Hona Chaahoon” in Haunted. “Khwabon Ke Rishtey,” written and composed by Amir Zaki, won Song of the Year at the 2009 LUX Style Awards.

Faith and connection.

Najam says he stepped away from commercial and Bollywood music in 2012 to focus on a spiritual path. His 2026 work brings that concern for connection into “Only Love,” co-written with Chris Eaton, and the Partition remembrance film “Legacy.”
