Mini bio

How it started.

Nancy grew up in Barnawa, Uttar Pradesh, and moved to Delhi in 2020 hoping to prepare for the civil services. When the pandemic strained the family’s finances, Nancy and a younger brother began making videos. Fashion content became a way to help support the household.

Finding a format.

Transition reels gave way to a 100-day outfit-making challenge begun in March 2023. Viewers could follow the whole process: choosing a look, sketching it, shopping for fabric in Delhi’s Seelampur market and sewing it. A younger brother handled filming, lighting and editing.

The Cannes moment.

In 2024, Nancy walked the Cannes red carpet in a pink ruffled gown made with 1,000 metres of fabric and weighing about 20 kilograms. A hand-embroidered lavender saree followed. The looks brought a much wider audience, and Sonam Kapoor publicly asked Nancy to make an outfit for her.

Designing for others.

Nancy later created a white floral gown for Ananya Panday’s Call Me Bae promotions and a saree-inspired look for Tyla’s first India visit. In 2026, Nancy Tyagi Custom brought that personal approach to followers, with outfits inspired by their own stories.
