Mini bio

How it started.

Nina began writing and recording songs in a childhood bedroom in Edinburgh, posting original songs to YouTube and performing in local pubs. At 17, Nina played for Ed Sheeran while asking for advice. That meeting led to a place on his European tour.

Finding an audience.

“Stay Out” reached No. 21 in the UK in 2013. The debut album Peroxide followed in 2014, reaching No. 11 in the UK and No. 1 in Scotland. The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change arrived in 2019, followed by Älskar in 2022.

Following the songs.

In 2024, Nina launched Apple Tree Records with longtime manager Vicky Dowdall. Mountain Music returned to the folk sounds Nina grew up with in Scotland. Nina told Apple Music that writing alone again helped rebuild trust in personal instincts, with Peter Miles brought in to produce the finished demos.

Writing beyond the solo records.

Nina also writes for other performers. Credits include IVE’s “Classic,” five songs on Perrie’s debut album and ILLENIUM’s “Luv Me A Little,” which Nina co-wrote with Lewis Capaldi and also sings on.
