Mini bio
How it started.
Orla grew up in Dublin and began sharing covers and original songs from her bedroom on YouTube as a teenager. After school, she moved to London to build a life in music. Fans stayed close through her Secret Demo Club on Patreon, where she shares demos directly.
Finding her own way.
Her debut album, Woman on the Internet, arrived in 2021 through New Friends. “Why Am I Like This?” reached a new audience through Netflix’s Heartstopper. In her 2024 fan Q&A, Orla said Alice Oseman told her the song had been chosen before its scene was filmed.
Making room for more.
Alongside her solo work, Orla formed FIZZ with dodie, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown. Their 2023 album The Secret to Life gave her a faster, more instinctive way to make music. She followed it with Everybody Needs a Hero in 2024, won an Ivor Novello for “Mine” in 2025, and wrote the eight-song soundtrack for Trying’s fifth season in 2026.
