Mini bio
How it started.
The brothers began playing together in 2008 and took the name Palaye Royale in 2011. Sebastian has traced the name to a Toronto dance hall where their grandparents met. Their first single, “Morning Light,” came out in 2012, produced by the Matrix at Henson Studios.
Fans made the difference.
Early attention came through “Get Higher,” which appeared in a Samsung Galaxy commercial. In 2014, their supporters helped them become the first unsigned band to win MTV’s fan-voted Musical March Madness competition, beating Linkin Park in the final.
Building their world.
Sumerian Records released their James Iha-produced debut, Boom Boom Room (Side A), in 2016. It includes “Mr. Doctor Man” and a guest appearance by Kellin Quinn on “Ma Chérie.” Side B followed in 2018, then The Bastards in 2020, Fever Dream in 2022 and Death or Glory in 2024.
Where they are now.
In October 2026, the band announced Amsterdamage for January 22, 2027, alongside a tour across Europe, the UK and North America. Their new single “Lost In Translation” begins that chapter, after 2025 releases including “Feel Something, Great.” and “Sad Generation.”
