Mini bio
How it started
Patrick grew up in Hudson, Quebec, sang in church choirs and studied music at Vanier College. He told Washingtonian that he began playing piano at eight and made up songs at night.
Finding an audience
His second album, Close to Paradise, won the 2007 Polaris Music Prize. His voice also reached listeners through “To Build a Home,” his collaboration with The Cinematic Orchestra, and the French-language song “Je te laisserai des mots.”
A new chapter
After losing his voice for nearly three months, Patrick began writing for singers he wanted to hear. His voice returned, and the resulting album, Uh Oh, became a collection of collaborations.
