Mini bio

The idea.

Physics Explained is for curious viewers who want to follow the mathematics behind modern physics. The creator describes a PhD background in theoretical physics, specialising in string theory, and says physics education now takes up most of their time.

Early foundations.

The YouTube channel was created in October 2018. By August 2020, its library included a detailed treatment of the ultraviolet catastrophe, following classical radiation theory through to Planck’s quantum hypothesis.

Videos fans return to.

The 2020 ultraviolet catastrophe video and the 2022 Schrödinger equation introduction have each passed two million views. The latter works through a particle in a box, probability and superposition, giving viewers a concrete calculation to follow.

The expanding library.

In 2025, videos explored quantum fields, neutron stars and the Planck length. The channel also makes room for mathematics itself: its 2026 Riemann hypothesis series follows the connection between prime numbers and the zeta function.

Trivia

  1. The ultraviolet catastrophe video follows the presentation in Eisberg and Resnick’s quantum physics textbook.
  2. The Schrödinger equation introduction uses a particle in an infinite square well as its worked example.
  3. The channel’s Riemann hypothesis series ventures into number theory as well as physics.
