Mini bio
How it started.
Music ran through Régulo’s family, including his uncles and grandparents. He began performing young and developed a parallel life as a songwriter. His early credits include songs recorded by his cousin Gerardo Ortiz, as well as Banda MS, Raúl Hernández and Alfredo Olivas.
Finding an audience.
Música, Pólvora y Sangre appeared in 2010. Amor En Tiempos De Guerra brought a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Norteño Album in 2012. His catalog grew to include Senzu-Rah, En Estos Días and the numbered Mi Guitarra y Yo releases, making room for both corridos and romantic material.
Still writing and performing.
Recent releases include Carpe Diem (Full Experience) and the live project De Rancho en Rancho. In October 2026, he explained that Mi Morena pays tribute to the women of Badiraguato, where his family comes from. Its video was filmed there, with the aim of showing another side of the town.
